I am the only one in my family who is driven by the almighty dollar. And I have been on both ends of the stick--having money was definitely better than wondering if I would have enough to feed myself for the next week. My mother often wonders why, but in reading what you wrote, I think I now understand what I never could before....in all the hardships in your life, as well as mine, the worst of them could have been circumvented by enough money....even your military career could have been saved; with enough money to the right person? It doesn't mean we don't have sadness or anger about unjust things, it just means we have something to fall back on--a way to bounce back. I'm happy for you--the way you've bounced back and I wish you TONS of almighty dollars, but at some point, will you look back and say, "If it hadn't been for all the pain, would I be where I am today?"
