Ive been involved in a series of debates recently. Some of the questions sparking said debates are:
“Arent there things more important than money and getting rich?”
“Why bother with getting rich, why not just focus on being happy?”
“The Bible says that “How hardly shall a rich man enter into the Kingdom of God”, so why do you want to be rich?”
Dont listen to the advice or opinions of someone who doesnt have what you want – Arthur Pledger
Well, these statements have come from people who dont have what I want.
I am 100% focused on getting cash. And not just “quick flip” cash. Im talking about WEALTH.
- Im doing this because I know what its like to move from hotel room to hotel room because your mothers credit isnt good enough to get an apartment
- I watched my mother struggle without end to pay bills, only to suffer one disaster after another.
- I know what its like to eat ketchup and hotdog buns for dinner after school
- I know what its like limping to school with blisters and callouses on my feet because my shoes are too small and mom couldnt afford to buy new ones
- I have taken out neighbors trash to be able to buy food for my family as a 9 year old.
- I have had creditors threatening to sue me unless I paid up.
- I have had to make the choice between eating and putting gas in my car.
- Try adding all that on top of being one of the most hated men alive, and if you know my story, you know why.
Why is getting rich so important to me? Why is it worth dying for? Because without wealth, one cant truly live, and I will die before subjecting my children to the things I went through.
If you really need an illustration of the reason why poverty or even mediocrity cannot be an option for anyone with a family, take a look at this clip.
See, John was an average, mediocre factory worker. Being average and mediocre means you are one disaster away from ruin and death. One pissed off manager can come into the office and fire your ass Ari Gold style TODAY.
Forget the fake it til you make it mentality
I can remember driving around trailer parks and in low income housing areas as a Marine recruiter and seeing expensive Escalades and BMWs…AND THEY LIVE IN TRAILER PARKS. Thats not the rich Im talking about. Im not gonna jump off the city bus with $150 Jordans on my feet. Thats called “misplaced priorities”. If success in life was measured by my shoes of the price tag on my car, then I would be in on the whole fake it til you make it thing. But success in MY life is measured by my kids having the resources they need to be successful, being able to spend my days travelling the world in comfort with my family, not in an office.
There can only be one goal
Success in my life is measured by NOT having to choose between putting gas in my car or food in my stomach. So screw fake it til you make it. Screw “the best things in life are free”. Theres no joy in poverty or mediocrity. Thats why the only goal that truly matters to me is this one: GET RICH.

Amen to that
Wow someone struck a cord with you!
Some many times people judge and have no clue of about the background of people before they give their opinions.
I know money is not evil and I know I need to get to give along with my time.
Good post.
Its just that people fail to recognize the importance of the things we teach on our site. It too alot to spur me into action, and I hope it takes our sites versus suffering to spur others into action
I agree. We never know who we are influencing with these sites so it is best to aim to Empower!

“There’s no joy in poverty or mediocrity.” In my life I have had people tell me the idea of making money is somehow beneath them. But, every time I remember the days I couldn’t afford dental insurance and had my tooth pulled for 25 bucks and walked home in pain because the numb juice wore off. I remember being in college with only a blanket, I remember having holes in my shoes and putting cardboard in them and hoping I didn’t step in any puddles, I remember not having car insurance until I was 21 even though I had a car since 15, I remember sleeping on the floor with rats running by my head and I remember moving with 400 bucks in my pocket and hoping I get a job before I got kicked out of my apartment.
So I understand and if wanting to be a Rich is a Sin I’ll see you in Hell because I already lived through it and it’s worth the shot!
Exactly. BTW, Im glad to see you havin much success on tha site!

I will do you one better; i will take a look at it AND do a review
I think your testament is a statement to something much bigger than “get rich or die”. I am the only one in my family who is driven by the almighty dollar. And I have been on both ends of the stick–having money was definitely better than wondering if I would have enough to feed myself for the next week. My mother often wonders why, but in reading what you wrote, I think I now understand what I never could before….in all the hardships in your life, as well as mine, the worst of them could have been circumvented by enough money….even your military career could have been saved; with enough money to the right person? It doesn’t mean we don’t have sadness or anger about unjust things, it just means we have something to fall back on–a way to bounce back. I’m happy for you–the way you’ve bounced back and I wish you TONS of almighty dollars, but at some point, will you look back and say, “If it hadn’t been for all the pain, would I be where I am today?”
Thanks Man! I’m still having fun doing it and I still got a lot on my chest so it’s therapeutic LOL!
Great post. As a father it really resonates with me. One of my greatest fears is not being able to give my son every advantage in this life. I’ve made it my mission in life to do whatever it takes to be in a position to provide for him.

Thanks for the comment! I believe it is the mission of every parent not only to provide the basics for their children, but also to provide an honorable example and inspire their kids. We can only learn of what is possible from others, especially those closest to us!
Another good read. It’s not about gettin’ paid; you can work a 9-5 and get paid. It’s about generating wealth that you can pass on.
My goal is simple: to be able to wake up one day and only have to “work” if I want to. Until then, the job’s not done.

Im in the same mindset. To me, if I have to”work”, Im not there yet. Na’amean?
